Photo Album: Push Piers and PolyLEVEL™ in Orange, California
In Orange, California, Saber foundations was contracted by a homeowner who's home was suffering from severe settling. Windows and doors are not opening and closing properly, and cracks are visible in the stucco and interior walls. The owner was concerned that if not corrected these issues would only get worse. This type of settling is usually due to a shift in the soils supporting the foundation, as the summer heat shrinks the clay in the supporting soils.
With the Push Piers, by Foundation Supportworks, Inc, installation is rather easy, and the effects are immediate. Push Piers are easily driven into the ground beneath a home until they hit hard solid supporting soils. brackets are attached to the foundation footings to drive the piers in at the right angle and to transfer the lifting from the pier to the home's foundation.
During installation, 8 piers were in installed. These piers work together to transfer the weight of the structure to the strong soils or bedrock below. Once the lifting process was completed on this project, PolyLEVEL™ was injected to fill any void, then the concrete that had been cut out was repaired and the job was complete. After installation, the homeowner will notice that the signs of soil shifting will no longer be an issue. The doors and windows that once were sticking and hard to open and close with now open and close with ease, and the cracks that had formed will have closed.
