Commercial Foundations Photo Album: Apartment Foundation Repair in Agoura Hills, CA - Phase I
Saber Geotechnical Construction Solutions proposed to stabilize this apartment complex using the Helical Piers and PolyLEVEL™ system. PolyLEVEL™ is a two-part urethane that when combined, expands into a rigid foam used to fill voids, stabilize slabs and lift concrete. Once injected through small 5/8 inch drilled holes in the surface or slabs, a chemical reaction converts the liquid urethane components into a strong, rapidly setting, waterproof foam material.
In it’s foam state, PolyLEVEL™ is light weight, weighing two to six pounds per cubic-foot (pcf). Opposed to mud-jacking which can weigh upwards of 120 pcf, thus adding a significant burden to the supporting soils under the slab, and potentially contributing to further settlement issues. With a compressive strength of 10,800 pounds per square foot, PolyLEVEL™ has the strength to support the most demanding residential loads. For this job, Saber will use the polyurethane injection as a void fill once the helical pier system has been installed and the structure has been lifted in order to prevent any future settling.
Concrete Separation
The separation of the concrete in this photo is caused by unstable soils beneath the foundation.
Piers Installed
The piers are installed at each of their locations, and are set up ready for the lift to be preformed.
Gap Closed
The separation that had occurred due to soil settlement is no longer an issue.

Wall Separation
This wall separation in this photo is caused by unstable soils beneath the foundation.
Wall Separation between Railing and Rock Wall
The gap you can see from the railing to the wall is further proof that there is severe settling of soils underneath the apartment structure.
Separation of Concrete Stairs
The separation of the concrete between each of the steps as seen in this photo is caused by the settlement of soils.
Pier Installation
The piers have been installed at the footing locations.

Helical Piers Installed
Installing helical piers at the footing locations. These piers will be driven into solid bedrock to give a stable base for the lift.
