A homeowner in La Mesa noticed his pool deck was falling into disrepair. The man frequently hosted pool parties and other social gatherings in his backyard. He wanted a place for people to gather without stubbing their toes or encountering other safety issues. The home was built in 1955. In the last 12 years or so that the man owned the home, he noticed the pool deck's issues getting worse. The concrete slabs were cracked and sinking in some places. The joints, or controlled cuts in the concrete, were not sealed. Weeds and other debris could be found in the joints. Saber's design specialist noted how easy it was for rain or pool water to get under the concrete pool deck and wash away the soil underneath. The eroded soil would cause voids under the slabs, leading to the sinking and cracking concrete seen all over the deck. The homeowner agreed it would make sense to repair the concrete pool deck instead of replacing it, which would likely be much more costly and take a lot of time. Repairing the concrete would restore it back to how it used to look with minimal downtime. In fact, the homeowner could use the pool deck again after just a half hour. With the repair plan in place, Saber's concrete repair crew got to work. First, they washed the dirt and debris from the concrete slabs. Then, they lifted the sunken slabs back into place with a proprietary foam. The crew injected the foam under the slabs, and after a short time the foam expanded, lifting up the concrete. It then quickly cured, keeping the concrete lifted back into its original position. This foam, called PolyLevel, is only available in southern California to Saber Foundation Repair. The crew sealed all the joints and cracks with a special caulk to prevent any more water from getting under the concrete slabs. They used a special blend to match the color of the caulk to the concrete. The end result gave the homeowner a concrete pool deck and looked and felt like new, without the down time or expense of completely replacing it.Saber Levels and Seals La Mesa Pool Deck
