Though there were no visible signs of water, the soil was very wet in the lowest section of concrete. The flooring of the property was uneven and the owner feared about trip hazards due to uneven flooring. There were visible signs of settlement in gaps at the roof on partition walls. Door gaps were all off and doors were not functioning correctly. The property also had several cracks in their drywall. The property management had noted that the door and roof gaps were getting worse and there was a crack in the floor where the settlement area began. On the doors not functioning, there was a 2-in. layer of self-leveling concrete on the floor where the drop had occurred. Their goal was to ensure the floor wouldn't settle any longer. They had considered ripping out and re-pouring concrete in the area, but decided against it because it wouldn't address the poor soil conditions. They chose Saber due to excellent reviews and their good name in the foundation repair business. A contractor was hired to remove carpet and tile in a 4 grid pattern throughout the specified area. A glazing crew came and removed 2 windows. One was to have hose access from room 1080 to 1085 and the rest of the surrounding area. The other was to access rooms 1041 - 1043 and their surrounding areas. Holes were drilled through the concrete slab in every location where the carpet was removed. Ports were placed in each hole and the crew of Saber Foundations began PolyLevel injections in room 1085 and moved down to 1080. The cleanup process began with the removal of each port and the holes being patched with grey cement. The carpet crew then started replacing the removed carpet and the window crew replaced the windows after all equipment was removed. PolyLevel was injected through slab to level concrete on interior of commercial building. Saber met the homeowner's needs by lifting their concrete 2.7" in several of their offices in order to get the doors functioning again and the floors level. The walls between each office were back in line with the roof, as well. By injecting PolyLevel into the soil below, Saber stabilized the failing soil below to prevent the problem from reoccurring. Saber installed 2200lbs of 2.5lb PolyLevel in an area approx. 30'X150' Stabilized soil and lifted floors. Their worst areas lifted completely in approx. 2 hours. The management team was very pleased with Saber's work and spoke of having Saber do the other portion of the building that was having foundation issues. They were surprised on how fast the project took to finish. Contact Saber Foundations to schedule your free estimate today. Challenge
Solution
Before each injection, the Saber team benchmarked the original elevation and monitored movement white injecting. Saber's hard-working crew closed gaps between baseboards and the slab, and elevated until the partition wall supported the dropped ceiling. This was then accomplished in rooms 1041 and 1042 and their specified areas. Throughout the whole span of work area, were then within half inch level all the way around.Project Summary
