Sinking Patio and Foundation Repair in Glendora, CA
Challenge
A homeowner in Glendora was beginning to see advanced symptoms of sinking concrete on her property. She had noticed that her patio concrete slabs were sinking, which over the years spread to their home. Cracks started to appear on their exterior walls. She and her husband knew that things would only get worse, so they called on Saber to diagnose the problem and what needed to be done.
Solution
After a project design specialist visited the home and performed a full foundation inspection, he determined that not only was the patio sinking, but their home was also sinking. He went through the solution plan that included fixing and protecting their foundation from further settlement. Using a diagram of the home, he explained to the homeowners where hydraulic push piers would be strategically placed in order to stop settlement, and raise the home as close to level as possible.
Once the solution was mapped out, the homeowners chose to have Saber complete the work. The production crew came and installed six (6) 288 push pier standard brackets in the designated areas. Concrete needed to be removed in order to have access to the areas needing support. It was found later that pier depth needed to be increased in order to complete the project efficiently.
After the solution was implemented, the homeowners were pleased with the results and were involved in the process from start to finish, getting their questions answered and learning about each step as the crew worked on improving the integrity of their home.
