Foundation Repair Photo Album: SmartJack & Push Pier Installation in Pasadena, CA
This album shows how we lift a settling foundation with a crawlspace. We used push piers to lift the home to the desired height and level. Once lifted we removed the old posts and replaced them SmartJacks with a galvanized beam. A settled foundation can cause many issues with a home and unsupported posts in a crawlspace only add on more problems. Problems such as cracked walls, sticking doors and windows, bowing floors, and many more.
Bulb of Influence
Each SmartJack has a "Bulb of Influence" which is a hole that is dug and filled with concrete or gravel. Doing this distributes the pressure caused by the weight of the home to be more distributed to prevent the sinking of the SmartJack.

Before SmartJack Installation
In this photo, there are posts that are not properly supported with an insufficient footing which is greatly contributing to the homeowner's problems.
Push Piers Installation
coincidently the area of the home that was settling was on the same side that the entrance of the crawlspace was located. The concrete had to be removed to make room for the Push Piers to be installed to lift and stabilized the problem area of the home.
