Raised foundation in Riverside
Challenge
A home in Riverside was purchased at auction, sight un-seen. Once the contractor who was sent to remodel the home was able to see the home, he found that the home was suffering from foundation issues. The home had major cracks in the walls and the floors were sagging. The Contractor of the home remodel, had worked several times with Saber and knew Saber was company to call to get the home repaired and ready for the remodel.
Solution
Saber Geotechnical Construction Solutions remedied the homeowner’s problem by raising and shimming the crawl space area. The home had a variance of 2 inches at its lowest point. The Saber crew first removed the old footings and replaced them with new precast footings and concrete pads. They then had to redo the existing post strapping that was on the home, they replaced the existing post straps with new T-straps, they replaced ten existing straps around the crawlspace. They also added more support by adding sill plate bolting of the single story home. Once they had replaced all the footings and competed the lift, they then went on to repair the cracks that had formed around the property. They used an epoxy injecting to repair 4 major cracks around the property. The contractor can now finish the remodel of this home knowing that the new flooring going in will no be affected by sloping floors, the homeowner has piece of mind knowing that the home is now repaired and can be placed on the market with a clean bill of health.
