Retrofit in Long Beach

Challenge

Customer Mari D, of Long Beach wanted to get her older home reinforced for when the next big earthquake hits her area.  With the likelyhood of an earthquake shaking the ground in her area, she knew it was better now than never to secure her home.  So Mari began her search to find the best company to perform the type of work she was looking for. 

Solution

Upon inspection, the Project Design Specialist from Saber proposed to install Simpson UFP 10 brackets at every corner of the foundation and every 6’ from the center as well as strapping each 4x4 post to each existing wood grinder beam using Simpson T-Straps and Simpson framing clips. 

Mari found this was the best option for her, so she scheduled a crew from Saber to retrofit her home.  The Saber crew was able to complete the retrofit project in the first day at the site.  Working in the home's crawl space, the crew installed and secured the T-Straps, then they installed and secured the sill plates.

Mari now has peace of mind knowing that when the inveitable earthquake shakes the ground in her area, her home is now more safely secured.
