In Costa Mesa, California, Saber Foundations was contracted to fix an issue of sever concrete settlement.  The settlement was most likely caused by the combined weight of the concrete and what is supporting it.  The soil beneath the concrete compresses and can cause major problems.  Like the ones shown in this before photo,  the concrete had settled and the walls had begun to show the signs of the settlement by gapping.  Saber was able to quickly and affordably fix the issue for this homeowner, by using the PolyLEVEL™ process.  The PolyLEVEL™ process is a two part foam used to inject into the ground to form a fill that is strong yet light weight.  This process was completed and the end result was that of closing the gaps that the concrete sinking had caused.  The great thing about PolyLEVEL™ is it waterproof, it does not react with soil or water, and does not leak hazardous chemicals into the soil.  It also cures very quickly, so the process is messy and disruptive, in comparison to other foundation-lifting techniques.

Job Stories From Costa Mesa, CA
PolyLEVELâ„¢ stabilization in Costa Mesa

A homeowner in Costa Mesa had contacted Saber regarding the settlement of their home.  The homeowner had noticed that cracks were beginning to form in the interior walls of the home as well as in the homes slab.  A Saber design specialist was scheduled to evaluate the property.  The finding of the evaluation showed that the home did have settlement issues, as suspected.  It was proposed to the homeowner that PolyLEVEL™ be added beneath the homes foundation to add stabilization of the property and to prevent any future settlement.  The homeowner knew that the issues needed to be resolved, Saber was then contracted to repair the foundation.  The Saber crew was scheduled to repair the homes settlement issue.  The Saber crew arrived at the home and went straight to work.  They injected PolyLEVEL™ up to seven feet below the existing slab into the soil for greater bearing capacity and soil stabilization, followed by injection of a closed cell, high density expanding structural polyurethane resin directly beneath the existing slab to attempt lift to maximum practical recovery.  Once the PolyLEVEL™ was injected and set up, the crew needed to repair some of the cracks that had formed in the slab. Crack repair by perpendicular saw cutting of crack and installing steel concrete staples 18"o.c. and a two component epoxy was completed by the crew.  The home is now stabilized from future settlement, and the cracks have been repaired.

Push Piers, Crack repair and PolyLEVELâ„¢ in Costa Mesa

Homeowners in Costa Mesa, needed to have their foundation repaired.  They did some research and found Saber to be the best option.  The Saber crew arrived at the home in a timely manner and began the project. The first thing that needed to be completed was to remove concrete in four areas of the property to excavate the soils and expose the foundation footings.  Once this process was completed the crew then installed 4 push piers to lift and stabilize the home.  Once the piers had been installed PolyLEVEL™ was injected beneath the homes foundation to further stabilize the property and prevent future settlement.  The home had shown signs of settlement, with cracks forming throughout, the Saber crew then completed the crack stitching of 33 cracks throughout the property.  The Saber crew also used the PolyLEVEL™ around the exterior of the property to lift and raise some un-level walkway slabs that once were trip hazards, with the PolyLEVEL™ injections complete the walkways no longer pose a threat.  The homeowners now have piece of mind knowing that they biggest investment is stabile and no longer has signs of settlement.

Sagging floors fixed with Smart Jacks

Bill S homeowner in Costa Mesa called Saber to work hand in hand with the structural engineer to repair and support the pier and beam structure of his raised foundation "Crawl Space" home.

Engineer drawings called out for (4) Smart Jack girder supports as well as the removal and replacement of a failing grider.  The Smart Jack system was chosen for its engineered fill base and capacity of the entire install unit.

The Smart Jack system is a great  support solution to mitiagate against active clay soils under your home or to replace old and rotten timber supports.

Concrete Leveling in Costa Mesa

Claire G, of Costa Mesa, California, was experiencing sever concrete settlement at her condo, she had noticed that the walkways had some serious cracks and were uneven, causing tripping hazards.  The walls of her front porch were gapping and separating, making it very unsightly to look at.  She did some research and found that Saber Foundations using the PolyLEVEL™ process was the most effective and affordable way for her problem to be resolved, after contacting the Saber office and getting a Sales Representative to her property to do an evaluation and a free estimate, she was satisfied with the finding and the estimates for repair.  She made an appointment with the office to have a crew come and complete the work on her home.

The Saber crew was able to get the job done quickly and affordably, using the PolyLEVEL™ process, which is a two part foam that is injected into the ground to form a fill that is strong, yet light weight, waterproof and will not leak chemicals into the soils, because it does not react with soil or water.  The PolyLEVEL™ also cures very quickly, and is adjustable.  By adjusting the density and expansive force of the two-part foam allowing for a wide range of uses.  The equipment used but the Saber crew is not bulky, which allows for easy access to confined places.

During this process one small hole was cored into the concrete, where the PolyLEVEL™ material was injected.  Once the process was complete Claire, was able to see results immediately, the gapping in the walls were closed and the uneven walkways were level once again.  Claire was very pleased with the results of the PolyLEVEL™ and with the professionalism of the Saber crew.  Now Claire can once again enjoy being on the front porch of her condo.
