Customer Mari D, of Long Beach, California, had been considering reinforcing her property, and with the string of recent earthquakes in and around the Los Angeles area, she found that now was a better time then any. So, Mari did her research and found that Saber was the best company to come evaluate her property. Upon the inspection, the Sales representative from Saber proposed to install Simpson UFP 10 brackets at every corner of the foundation and every 6' from the center, as well as strapping each 4x4 post to each existing wood grinder beam, using Simpson T-straps and Simpson framing clips. There was also a crack in the slab that was a concern to Mari, therefore; it was suggested that the crack be routed, cleaned and repaired using a two component epoxy injection method.
Mari found that this was the best option for her, so she scheduled to have a crew from Saber repair the crack in her slab and retro fit her property. The crew was able to complete the project in the first day. They began by going into the crawlspace where the work would be preformed, and installed and secured the T-straps, they then installed and secured the sill plates and repaired the crack with epoxy.
Mari was very pleased with the work completed. It is safe to say, she now has piece of mind knowing that in the occurrence of the next earthquake in her area, her home has been safely secured.
In Los Angeles, California, Saber Foundations was contracted to complete a job on a structure that had suffered from severe foundation settlement. During the initial inspection it was also recommend that the property be retro-fitted with vertical and horizontal “I” beams. The settlement that was occurring on this structure was most likely due to the shifting in the supporting soils beneath the foundation. Using Foundation Supportworks, Inc, Push Piers made of steel and including a set of helical blades in the lower section of the pier, these are known as Helical Piers. Soil is removed from around the foundation footing for proper pier placement. Helical pier systems create a solid supporting base that transfers the weight of a structure downwards to strong supporting soils. These piers are mechanically advanced into the soil using small construction equipment or hand equipment. As they are installed to appropriate depths and capacities, they prevent any future settlement from occurring. Once the proper depths are achieved, heavy duty steel foundation brackets are positioned below and against the foundation footing. The weight of the structure is then transferred through the helical piers to deep, competent soils. Lifting the structure back towards its original position is then attempted. Then, the soil around the foundation is carefully replaced.
During this installation, because of the size of the building and the length of the walls, 100 helical piers were installed to the exterior and interior of of the property. These piers worked together to transfer the weight of the structure to the strong soils or bedrock below. After installation, the owner will notice that any signs of the soils shifting will no longer be an issue. This property was also retro-fitted with vertical and horizontal steel “I” beams. This process involves the installation of engineered metal connectors and other reinforcement materials at key stress points throughout the properties structure. The goal of the retrofitting process is to counteract three main earthquake-induced forces that can cause major damage to a building. Saber’s experienced crew utilized the vertical and horizontal “I” beams to keep the properties structure together in spite of any seismic force that could easily tear an un-reinforced property apart. The owner is not content with the fact that the property is once again stable and has been reinforced in the event of another earthquake, which in California is inevitable.
Customer Olivia M, of Somis, California, and her husband purchased their 1980’s home a year prior, fully knowing it had foundation settlement issues. Researching the available options, Olivia determined that Saber had the best online reviews and would be the best company to evaluate the property. Subject site is a single story home supported by a slab on grade foundation. Noticeable cracking in the foundation and flooring tile was evident as well as the floor was determined to be out of level. Upon inspection, Saber’s Project Specialist, Joe J. proposed to install 12 hydraulically driven steel Push Piers at 6’ intervals along the affected area to stabilize and lift the home back to it's original elevation.
Saber’s Foreman Trevar A and his crew completed the Push Pier installation in three days and performed lifting and leveling on the fourth day, followed by Polyurethane injection. Polyurethane was utilized to fill voids under the slab that were created during the lifting phase, further permanently supporting the foundation.
Another happy customer! Olivia was very pleased with the work completed. It is safe to say, she now has piece of mind knowing that the foundation of her home is stable.
Homeowners in Long Beach, California, had noticed signs of settlement at their property, cracks along the exterior of their home had started to appear. This type of settlement is usually due to the unstable soils beneath the foundation. The homeowners knew that something needed to be done to prevent any more cracking to occur.
Saber was contracted to fix the issue. Using PolyLEVEL™ the crew from Saber was able to stabilize the soils beneath the foundation. By pumping PolyLEVEL™ beneath the foundation this added stabilization to already unstable soils. Once the soils were stabilized the cracks were then repaired using gravity fed epoxy. The expoxy closes the cracks and allows for the homeowners to re-stucco the home with out the worry that the cracks will reappear. The homes foundation is now stabilized and the cracks are repaired.
Homeowners in Long Beach, California, had noticed serious cracks forming in the columns surrounding their porch. The homeowners knew that this was not normal, they did some research on the internet and found Saber. A project specialist from Saber went to the property to do an evaluation. The project specialist found that the soils were un-stabile and proposed that Saber install 3 helical piers to stabilize the porch and pillar. This type of settlement is usually due to the unstable soils beneath the foundation.
Saber sent a crew to complete the work for this homeowner. The crew installed 3 helical piers at three different pier locations to stabilize the porch and pillar. The helical pier is a steel pier that is driven into the ground like a screw. The pier is driven down until it reaches solid stable bedrock below. There were 2 piers installed to stabilize the porch, and one more pier installed to stabilize the pillar. Once the installation is complete the piers will remain a permeant fixture and will stabilize the area.
Homeowners in West Covina, had noticed several areas in and around their home that were cause for concern. There were cracks forming in the interior and exterior walls of the home and the doors and windows were becoming difficult to open and close.
The homeowners had received a few bids from other foundation contractors and decided to go with Saber after meeting with the project specialist. The homeowner was impressed with his professionalism and his overall knowledge of the situation, soon after Saber was contracted and the work began on the home. The crew had to saw cut and remove some areas of concrete to place the piers in the correct locations around the home for maximum practical recovery. The concrete was then replaced once the piers had been installed and the home had been lifted. The homeowners were kept informed of any issues or changes that needed to be made during the process. Once the piers had been installed and the lift pro formed, the crew then used our PolyLEVEL™ to fill the void underneath the home to prevent any future settlement to occur. The homeowners no longer see the effects of the settlement; the cracks in the walls have been closed and the doors and windows are no longer hard to open and close.
Saber Geotechnical Construction Solutions proposed to stabilize an apartment complex in Agoura Hills using the Helical Piers and PolyLEVEL™ system. PolyLEVEL™ is a two-part urethane that when combined, expands into a rigid foam used to fill voids, stabilize slabs and lift concrete. Once injected through small 5/8 inch drilled holes in the surface or slabs, a chemical reaction converts the liquid urethane components into a strong, rapidly setting, waterproof foam material.
In it’s foam state, PolyLEVEL™ is light weight, weighing two to six pounds per cubic-foot (pcf). Opposed to mud-jacking which can weigh upwards of 120 pcf, thus adding a significant burden to the supporting soils under the slab, and potentially contributing to further settlement issues. With a compressive strength of 10,800 pounds per square foot, PolyLEVEL™ has the strength to support the most demanding residential loads. For this job, Saber will use the polyurethane injection as a void fill once the helical pier system has been installed and the structure has been lifted in order to prevent any future settling.
Homeowners in Diamond Bar, Ca had noticed signs of settlement in and around their propriety. After doing some research on the web for the best way to resolve their foundation settlement issue, they contracted Saber. A design specialist from Saber went to the home to do a property evaluation and found that the property did have some underlying soils issues which were causing the home to show the signs of settlement, interior and exterior cracks in the walls and the slab.
The design specialist proposed to resolve the issue by installing push piers at 11 different locations around the property and to lift and stabilize the property using PolyLEVEL™. The crew from Saber worked diligently to complete the project. There were several areas that needed to have concrete removed in order for the piers to be placed at the proper locations. The concrete was cut out and then the holes were excavated and the piers were installed. Once all the piers had been installed the home was lifted to maximum practical recovery, and the then PolyLEVEL™ was used to fill the void that had formed under the foundation once the property was raised. The homeowners no longer see the signs of settlement and know that their property is once again stable and settlement will no longer be an issue.
Saber was contracted to repair a home in Granada Hills, California. The home had suffered from severe settlement issues, causing cracks to form in the interior and exterior of the home, and the walls to bow. The homeowners knew that they needed to get the home repaired before more settlement occurred and caused more issues. Saber was able to repair the foundation using the Helical Pier system, along with PolyLEVEL™ to fill the void once the lift was completed. This job required to concrete areas in the interior of the home to be removed to place the piers for the maximum stabilization. There was also some crack repair work completed by the Saber crew, as well as sill plate bolting done in the crawlspace of the home. The homeowners can no longer see the effects of the settling soils.
Homeowners in Los Angeles, were looking for ways to make their home more energy efficient and to keep moisture out of their homes crawlspace. After spending many hours researching the different ways to resolve their issues, they found that Saber and the CleanSpace encapsulation installed be Saber was the best option for them. CleanSpace encapsulation is a 20 mil thick plastic liner, similar to a pool liner that can be fitted in your crawlspace to completely seal off your home from the earth. The material is incredibly durable, will last as long as the home, and will stay in place. Not only does CleanSpace make the homes crawlspace moisture free, and makes the home more energy efficient it also adds space for storage. The Saber CleanSpace installation crew was scheduled to complete the project, they arrived at the site and went right to work. The crew installed 418sqft of CleanSpace to the homes crawlspace area. The process to install the CleanSpace began with the a dimpled polyethylene membrane under the CleanSpace liner which allows for water to flow to a sump in the crawlspace, once this is installed, the lining is then attached to the walls with fasteners that are permanently driven into the walls. The Saber crew worked diligently to complete the crawlspace. The homeowners can now not only enjoy the energy efficiency of the CleanSpace, but also the added benefits: CleanSpace has an antimicrobial additive manufactured into the material, which prevents mold growth on the liner. This additive is odorless and safe.
In Brea, California, a home was purchased at auction to be remodeled and resold. Upon the inspection of the home after the new owners received the keys, they found that the home had some settlement issues, and in order to get the home remodeled and resold for market value or above they new owners knew they needed to get the foundation repaired. The owners who are in the business of buying remodeling and reselling homes have used Saber in the past and knew without a doubt that when they saw what they were up against, knew they would call Saber to repair the foundation issue. The Saber crew was able to repair the foundation using the four push piers, driven into the ground to bedrock, and then preform a lift of the home to maximum practical recovery. Once the lift and stabilization was complete the new owners went to work to remodel and resell the home, they knew without Saber they could run into issues during the selling process and that to them was not an option. The home is now stabilized and the owners are happy to know that they will be making a return on their investment.
Homeowners in Beverly Hills, CA, we working on renovation of their home. They found that the current sump pump they were using was not very efficient. So they did some research and found the TripleSafe™ Sump Pump System installed by Saber. The TripleSafe™ Sump Pump is not just a sump pump system. It’s oversized plastic sump liner contains three sump pumps that can work together or individually depending on the pumping demands. With this system you do not have to worry about over pumping, that may burn out single pump systems. An added plus, in the case of a power outage, the TripleSafe™ system will keep operating, with the built in battery-powered backup pump. The Saber crew installed the TripleSafe™ system quickly and efficiently for this homeowner. The Homeowners are pleased with the pump and very happy they choose Saber and the TripleSafe™ system for their home.
A homeowner in Long Beach, was wanting to retrofit their home and protect their investment from the inevitable California earthquakes. The homeowner did some research and found that Saber was the best option for him. The Design Specialist from Saber came to the property to do an evaluation. During the walk through inspection the Specialist also found that the posts used to support the home needed to be replaced to prevent the home from settlement issues. The homeowner was very impressed with the Design Specialist and the proposal presented during the walk through, and was ready to schedule the Saber Crew to come to the propriety and get started on the repairs. The crew arrived and went straight to work, they replaced the wood posts and all of the existing post strapping. They then continued with the sill plate bolting for the single story structure. The homeowner can now rest easy knowing that the home is protected from an earthquake and any future settlement issues.
A home in El Segundo, California was suffering from serious foundation settlement. Large cracks had formed in the slab and walls of the home. The homeowner was concerned with what was going on with the home, so they began to research options on how to repair or replace the foundation. They found that replacing the foundation all together would not only be extremely expensive, but also very time consuming. The homeowner knew that wanted something for a permanent fix, but something that would not break the bank. The homeowners researched several options and found that Saber with their many years in business and positive reviews would be the best option. A design specialist from Saber came to the property and competed an evaluation. The homeowner liked the proposal and set an appointment for the crew to come out and get the work started. The crew came out to the home and prepped 6 areas where piers would be located in order to repair the foundation of the home. The holes were excavated and the piers were installed. Once that was complete the holes were backfilled, the cracks that had formed around the home were then filled using an epoxy injection. The crew also injected PolyLEVEL™ beneath the homes foundation to fill any voids that may have formed, and to protect the home from any future settlement.
A homeowner in Palos Verdes Peninsula, was concerned with earthquakes that are inevitable in California, damaging their property beyond repair. So they search for ways to protect their home from a damaging quake. They found Saber and knew they would be a great company to use in retrofitting their home. The crew from Saber competed the project tin a very timidly manner. The crew installed sill plate bolting to protect the home from shifting movements caused during an earthquake. The goal of the retrofitting process is to counteract three main earthquake-induced forces that can cause major damage to a building: racking, sliding and overturning. In engineer-speak, the retrofitting process transforms a building with loosely connected parts into a unified structure with a “continuous load path” that extends from the building foundation up through the walls and all the way to the roof framing. Our experienced crew will utilize an impressive arsenal of seismic connectors to keep your house structure together in spite of seismic forces that can easily tear an un-reinforced house apart. The home is now secured incase of an earthquake.
Daniel A, homeowner in Los Angeles called Saber to work hand in hand with the structural engineer to repair and support the pier and beam structure of his raised foundation "Crawl Space" home.
Engineer drawings called out for (15) Smart Jack girder supports as well as the removal and replacement of a failing grider. The Smart Jack system was chosen for its engineered fill base and capacity of the entire install unit.
The Smart Jack system is a great support solution to mitigate against active clay soils under your home or to replace old and rotten timber supports.
The home was also further supported by installing 9 push piers around the property to raise the foundation back to level. The home was sill plate bolted and nine existing posts were restated to add support.
A home in Sherman Oaks was suffering from sagging floors throughout the home. The homeowners were concerned with the floors and knew something needed to be done to fix the issue before it became more severe. The homeowners found Saber and knew it was the right choice for them. They made the appointment for the design specialist to come to the home and compete a property evaluation. The specialist proposed that the home needed a new steel girder beam installed along with SmartJacks to further stabilize the home and lift the sagging floors. The Saber crew was schedule to repair the foundation. They removed the old rotted girder beam and replaced it with a new steel one, they then installed (4) SmartJacks in to support the beam and raise the sagging floors. The SmartJacks were installed and adjusted to raise the beam and support the floors. The home is now stabilized and the floors that were once sagging are no longer an issue. The homeowner is very pleased with the work completed and would recommend Saber to anyone with foundation issues.
Ms. Mitchell, a resident of Palmdale, California, had noticed cracks inching along the upper walls of her home, as well as cracks in her footings. She knew that these were symptoms of soil settlement or foundation problems and wanted to make sure that her foundation was stable and level. After researching to learn the best way to remedy her situation, she contacted Saber Geotechnical Construction Solutions.
After calling Saber, the team met with Ms. Mitchell and agreed to install 7 push piers to stabalize her foundation; 3 inside her garage, 3 along the side of the home, and one in the rear.
In order to install the piers, concrete needed to be removed. After push pier installation was completed, Saber took great care in repouring and replacing the concrete.
Ms. Mitchell left us a glowing review and appreciated the hard work and due diligence of Manager Trevar Akins, Foreman Alvin Rodriguez, and team members Dimitri, and Mike. She stated 'It almost looks like it was never touched. Thank you for keeping me in the loop on the job progress and showing up on time.'
Saber Foundation was called to a home in Hawthorne, CA to inspect and evaluate major cracks both within and along the outer walls of the stuccoed home. After inspection, it was determined that about 3/4 of the house was experiencing major settlement.
The raised foundation contained numerous cracks and all existing post and pads were in terrible shape. When Saber's piering team arrived, they got right to work.
First, post pads were installed, backfilled, with concrete poured back. One special twist for this job was that the homeowner and family were able to leave their mark on their home by leaving handprints in the newly poured concrete. Next, the team removed and replaced 12 post and pads in the crawlspace and installed AC post caps on all posts. In order to install part of the piers, the team had to remove and put back a part of the patio deck.
Saber was able to alleviate this family's foundation problems by halting any further settlement on 2/3 of the home and reinforced all beams underneath the domicile. The clients were super happy throughout the process.
Saber received a call from a homeowner experiencing water drainage problems. The water in his backyard wouldn't drain properly due to an underground spring. Puddles kept building in the yard near his neighbor's yard.
Upon arrival with his team, foreman, Angel Morales, saw that puddles were building up near a wall in the yard. Lots of mud and water had built up. In order to fix the problem, french drains were installed against the neighbor's wall, where most of the standing water was. The drain was connected to a preexisting drain in order to redirect the water into the street.
Saber helped this property by ridding it of puddling water by directing through the main drain into the street.
A homeowner in Pomona was experiencing telltale signs of foundation settlement. He observed cracks on the interior and exterior walls of his home. After initial inspection and diagnosis, foreman, Joe Delgado, and his team were dispatched to help right the problem. They were tasked wtih installing 5 helical piers to fix the settling problem and installed push piers inside the homeowner's crawlspace.
Each of the 5 helical piers were placed in holes 6 feet deep at strategic locations on the property. Once installed, they were welded in place. Saber successfully installed all product and fixed the homeowner's problem by halting further settlement of the home and increasing stability.
A Sylmar resident was having a problem with uneven slabs on his patio and pool deck. He had heard of Saber and it's stellar online reputation for giving honest imspections and providing reasonable estimates for the right fix.
Upon observing the customer's problem, a Saber Project Design Specialist determined that an application of Polylevel would be the best way to level his slabs without intrusive grinding or concrete replacement.
After Saber's production crew came out to meet with the customer and explain the process of the tailored solution, the PolyLevel was applied through discreet holes in the slab (which were then patched over). Within a short amount of time, the slab was ready to walk upon and the customer was delighted with the final results. He stated that now he could entertain without worry of injuries from tripping or ugly concrete.
A building off of North Brand Blvd. in Glendale had daily problems. Employees had trouble opening and closing doors due to a sunken foundation due to poor soil conditions. Once Saber had determined teh right fix, Foreman Rick Whitehead and his crew were called in beginning on November 12th. Rooms 1080 to 1085, 1041 to 1043 and the areas surrounding them were the main focus.
Visible signs that future problems would occur included large gaps between baseboards and the slab as well as spaces between partition walls and the dropped ceiling. Without PolyLevel structural damage to the upper level of the building would be inevitable. Further foundation damage, cracking and sinking slabs, and trip hazards in lower level high traffic areas would occur. Doors and walls would also need replacement.
In the beginning of the project, carpet tile was removed in a 4X4 space so taht Rick and Jacob could have access. Windows were also removed in a central location for rooms 1080 to 1085 and 1041 to 1043 and their areas. This was for easy access of the crew's hoses. Holes were drilled through the slab in the sectioned off areas while a shop vac was used to prevent dust. Ports were placed in each hole and PolyLevel was carefully injected under close observation. The Saber team monitored the slab elevation before, during, and after elevation. After PolyLevel was applied, all areas were cleaned and crews replaced the carpet tile and the windows.
Saber's services fixed the office building's foundation issues by bringing the foundation within a half inch of level and fully stabilized. All doors within open, closed, and latched with ease. Gaps between baseboards and the slab were closed completely. Any gaps between the walls and ceiling were also closed. The customer and their team were very satisfied and pleased. They especially took interest in the PolyLevel application and process, which was deemed a complete success!
A family in Covina called Saber when they found that they needed to take action on their settling pool deck. They wanted their pool to look level and cleaner for the next summer season. After Saber came out and determined that PolyLevel was the best fit for the problem, a crew was dispatched to fix the concrete without removing and replacing the slabs.
Inconspicuous holes were bored into key areas in the pool deck and the slab elevations were closely monitored as PolyLevel was injected. Saber's crew was able to level the customer's pool deck quickly. The homeowners were very pleased with the results and how simple the solution and process was. They commented on how Saber's crew left their yard and pool area cleaner than it was before they arrived!
A Lakewood homeowner called Saber to help lift his settling foundation. Doors wouldn't close and there were interior and exterior cracks on the walls. Upon the project design specialist's recommendation, the homeowner decided to move forward with the piering process.
Along with installing piers to lift the home, Saber placed rebar reinforcement along with new concrete. The home was lifted to maximum practical recovery and the homeowner was very pleased with the results. All doors functioned after the project was complete, as well.
A La Puente homeowner discovered cracks in their raised foundation beneath their home and needed help. To prevent further damage to their home, the family called Saber and a project design specialist was dispatched to the home. Upon observing the severe cracks in the concrete foundation, the project design specialist determined that crack stitching using rebar stapling would be the most effective long term solution.
Once the concrete repair production crew at Saber arrived, the repair commenced seamlessly. The cracks were sealed and reinforced with galvanized steel Simpson Strong Tie straps along the top and bottom of each crack, bolted securely. The homeowner was pleased with the results of the repair and felt that their foundation was safe from worsening of the cracks.
A condominium community in Canoga Park received a free property walk through and evaluation from Saber. They had called because a few of their walkway slabs of concrete were uneven, creating trip hazards for their residents.
Saber found quite a few trip hazards within the condominum property and advised that the concrete should be ground down to create a smoother surface. The owner of the complex agreed to have the services done within the following two weeks.
Once Saber's commercial grinding crew arrived, it only took a few days to efficiently and dustlessly grind down the trip hazards on the walkways in the community. The owner was pleased with the results, stating that the grinds were seamless and made the property look like new!
A homeowner in Alhambra wanted to schedule a fix for her sagging floor during the beginning of the new year of 2015. She gave Saber a call for an inspection before she left for her holiday vacation in 2014. She desired an affordable fix for the sagging floors in her home. Her home value had decreased and she needed to improve the selling price if she decided to put it on the market.
Upon inspecting her home, including the crawl space below her home, Saber's project design specialist determined that SmartJacks were the best solution to reinforce and support the flooring in her home. Saber's production crew was dispatched once an appointment could be made, convenient with the homeowner's return from her holiday vacation.
Along with the SmartJacks, a girder beam was also installed beneath the floors to provide added support. Shims on the interior stem walls were installed as well as a wooden post with a strap. The homeowner also decided to lift the concrete walkways around her home with PolyLevel.
Once the work was completed, the homeowner stated she was pleased with the results. Her property looked newer, with the leveled concrete, and the floors on the lower level of her home were no longer sagging. Doors closed easier, too.
A Rosemead family had noticed that their floors were slanted and many doors and windows in their home couldn't or wouldn't close easily. In September of 2016, they reached out to Saber for a free inspection of their foundation and an estimate on how much it would cost to fix their problems.
Upon visiting the property, our project design specialist determined that the home needed to be leveled. The homeowners let him know that previous foundation work had been done to the house and understood that Saber would have to make changes to it in order to secure the home.
During March of 2017, after testing the soil and engineering was completed, Saber's production team inserted 12 push piers in key areas around the house, and was able to lift the home to its original level, straightening doorjambs and window frames. The family was very happy with the results and noted that even though it was a huge project, the team was transparent and kept them up to date with the progress of the work.
A homeowner in Woodland Hills, CA had finally had enough of their too small basin for their sump pump. With the sufficient rains that had been falling in the area, he found that it overflowed into his crawlspace and eventually, the pump itself died. A musty odor began to come up through the house and, when the weather dried, bugs and other creatures were attracted to the moisture under the home.
Upon calling Saber, a project design specialist came out to perform a full home inspection. Upon inspecting the crawlspace, it was found that a SmartSump would be the perfect solution to the problem. It was also noted that a SmartPipe 7.5 was required to help further the solution of the homeowner's wet crawlspace problems. Once the production crew came to perform the services, the task only took one day to complete.
The homeowner was happy with the results and finally had an operating sump pump again. His crawlspace is now dry and free of flooding rainwater whenever it rains.
A homeowner's association in San Pedro needed immediate help with a concrete walkway problem at one of their communities in San Pedro, Ca. Many of the concrete slabs making up the community walkways were cracked or uneven. Residents were tripping and the unsightly damaged concrete made the property look old and unkempt.
After walking the property, Saber's trained concrete specialist determined that concrete grinding would be the best solution for most of the communities problems. Of the slabs, only a few needed complete removal and replacement.
Over the course of 6 days, Saber's grinding foreman came out to grind down 89 misaligned (uneven) joints between slabs. Saber took the time to be sure all concrete was leveled with little disruption to the community's residents.
After the grind, Saber's concrete crew arrived to remove and replace 270 sq. ft. of concrete throughout the large community. Upon completion of the project, the job site was cleaned and the HOA and property manager were able to walk the property with the foremen to ensure they were pleased with the results. Now, residents and their families could live in a community free from uneven concrete trip hazards and feel a sense of pride in where they live.
A home in San Pedro, Ca., built in the 1940s was in dire need of a lift. The homeowners had been living there since 1999 and over the past year and a half, noticed cracks along their doorways as well as on the walls. on the exterior of the home, the foundation had begun to crack and fall apart. Safety had become a concern for the family, and they wanted a solution to stop any further damage to their home. After getting estimates and solution options from a few contractors, they chose Saber and their permanent solution to fix their home.
Because the home had experienced about .5" of soil settlement, seventeen 1'-3' SmartJacks were needed along with 124 feet of steel support beams in order to stabilize the sagging floors above their crawlspace. Six Hydraulic push piers were also inserted along the outside of the home in order to lift the foundation to maximum practical recovery. Without these services, the home was guaranteed to continue to sink, jeopardizing the stability of the home itself.
A community church was in need of improving the safety of their parishioners. Various trip hazards had developed over the years on the property's walkways, stairways, and in other areas. They also wanted to eradicate unsightly cracks and improve the look of their church's landscape.
Saber was called in for a free inspection of what it would cost to grind down the trip hazards. There were found to be 11 areas needing to be leveled out through dustless grinding. They included the walk paths, an area at the top of the main stairs, in front of the base of the stairs, as well as alongside a city sidewalk bordering the property.
The project only took a day to complete and didn't cause the disruption of any services or other events. The church's staff appreciated the efficiency of the project and appreciated that their parishioners were much safer from trip and fall risk. This seemingly small change to the property provided a much-needed facelift and improvement.
A homeowner in Whittier, Ca. had noticed soil erosion and other symptoms of foundation and soil settlement beneath an exterior support column on his porch. He called Saber for a solution that would keep his home from sinking any further. After the initial inspection of the column's location, a single 288 Helical Pier Standard with a mechanical bracket was deemed the correct solution for the issue the home was having. A steel beam was also to be inserted directly below the base of the column for further reinforcement.
Once reviewing the plans, the foreman of the team to complete the job went over the details of the job, the length of time it would take and the expected results. Concrete removal and soil excavation was done by crew support to prepare for the insertion of the helical pier. The pier was inserted through the soil until it reached load bearing strata. Rebar was dowelled into the existing concrete slab and set in place with two part epoxy. The 2" X 6" steel beam was then added. The crew backfilled the soil at the helical's location and the soil was securely tamped down.
After the job was completed, the foreman went back over the finished job with the homeowner and everything proved satisfactory to the homeowner, including the job site cleanup and the final result of a permanently stabilized column.
An Avila Beach, Ca. home, built in 2002, withstood an earthquake in 2004. The current homeowner had just bought the home and had only lived in it for 2 months. Cracks in the drywall on the interior of the home had been noted before they purchased the home. The family planned on living in the home for quite a while but wanted their foundation issue fixed for a future sale date in the decades to come.
Saber conducted a free foundation inspection and determined that the foundation was sinking in one area due to settling soils. The sinking area was causing the walls to crack and it was found that, if not remedied, the symptoms would only get worse with time. The homeowner's goal was the permanently stabilize the slab foundation to prevent further settlement.
A 3" helical pier and tieback with a standard bracket was used to lift and stabilize the foundation. Many of the cracks in the interior walls of the home were closed upon lift of the home and the homeowner was pleased with their results.

Ponce and his wife reached out to have help with their 1960s home in Long Beach CA that they recently moved into. They had issues with a smelly and moist Crawlspace underneath their home. They were very concerned about their new investment; they didn’t have the peace of mind they would like to have. One of our talented Foreman Bryan A. installed over 1440 square feet of Cleanspace, removed a ton of debris, properly installed 12 vent sealing, a high-quality condensate pump, a customed fitted Everlast door, a compact high-performance Aprilaire 1820 dehumidifier, and a freshly installed electrical outlet. Ponce and his family were overjoyed and happy with integrity as well as our quality of work. Now the family can enjoy having the peace of mind of knowing that their crawlspace is clean and safe.
Robert Licon, a homeowner in Long Beach California has lived in his 70-year-old home for the past 5 years. They recently had a home inspection and learned there is a crack in their foundation which can be a big problem during an earthquake. Robert and his wife understood the seriousness of the problem and called us right away to do Seismic Retrofitting to properly reduce their risks. They didn’t want to deal with any further issues that can be caused by the crack and really wanted peace of mind when they are thinking of their home. They were aware of our reputation and knew we will give them redefining service and leave them saying WOW. Our Foreman Bryan installed 4 new posts with pads and caps, a 15-foot supplemental beam, a single foundation wall strap to address their crack. These fixes now make the home much safer and have reduced the risk of damage if an earthquake were to happen. Now Robert and his wife can have that peace of mind that they wanted from having a safer home.
Homeowner Ray C. contacted us to fix an issue they’ve had since they moved into their home last year. Their early 1970s home in Hacienda Heights developed a horrible musty smell which would get notably worse after it rains. Ray said, “The issue has been here the whole time, but gets really bad after the rain. I want to fix this problem as soon as possible; the smell is too much for me and my family.” Project Design Specialist Eamon R did the evaluation for the home and found that the moisture levels in the crawl space were through the roof. The humidity was peaking near 90% in the entire space. With humidity being so high, the wood readings were above 55% moisture. Have a high reading of humidity and moisture will not only cause the bad odor the family is experiencing, but it can also cause insect infestation, mold growth, and sagging floors. After Eamon’s inspection, he recommended that the home received the CleanSpace package. Ray was shocked by Eamon’s results and decided to continue with the project. Bryan and his crew installed a state-of-the-art Smartsump, 164 feet of Smartpipe, 1275 square feet of Cleanspace, vent sealing, a condensate pump, a custom-fitted Everlast door, an energy effective Aprilaire 1820, and some electrical. After Bryan completed the installation Ray couldn’t be any happier. He said, “Bryan and his crew were so professional. They arrived on time, finished the job quickly, and left our home without leaving a trace!” We at Saber believe in deliver WOW service to homeowners and help them to achieve a safe and stable home.
Homeowner David A. out in Long beach noticed that his driveway was becoming uneven and the cracks were starting to be a real eyesore. He and his wife first noticed the problem a couple of years ago but the concrete was barely uneven and the cracks were very minor. However, now some slabs are settling and the cracks are a terrible eyesore. At this point, the couple knew they needed help. One of our Project Design Specialist Peter G. identified that David would need PolyLevel inserted into two areas of the driveways as well as nearly 400ft of our NexusPro Joint sealant and crack repair. One of our PolyLevel experts Scott L. arrived with his crew, they began with the installation of Poly. The Poly lifted the concrete that has settled and became level to the rest of the concrete. After the Poly was finished Scott would seal all the joints as well as the cracks of the driveway with NexusPro. NexusPro is a sealant that is weather-resistant and never fully hardens. This allows the concrete to be protected and have the best finish possible. David and his wife were extremely pleased, they didn’t expect to get the results that Saber was able to provide. We were happy to provide the couple with a one-of-a-kind experience and showed them that we gave them the best permanent solution.
Homeowner Robert L moved into their 1950s home in SD roughly 5 years ago. Robert found us and said, “It is important to us that the company we select has a good reputation. – It’s important to my wife that this crack is fixed correctly so that we have peace of mind.” Bryan and his crew installed four new posts with pads and caps, a fifteen-foot supplemental beam, and a foundation wall strap. Robert and his wife were happy with the results and more importantly, they don’t have to worry about having future problems with their home and now can have the peace of mind they always wanted.
Homeowner Helga G, wanted to get her older late 1930’s home seismic retrofitted to prevent any damages from the next earthquake. She has lived in this house for 23 years and she is now seeing the age of her home want wants to take care of it. Homeowner Michael G. in Los Angeles, CA had a major issue with his crawl space. He moved into his freshly remodeled home five months ago and right away starting noticing a problem. There was a smell that was getting worse and worse. To find the source of the problem Project Design Specialist Jason S. went into the crawl space and found that there were very high levels of humidity which was causing mold and allowing too much moisture into the wood. To make this project further, Bryan and his team first removed all debris from the crawl space and installed the Cleanspace service which includes: Drainage matting, vapor barrio, an energy-efficient Aprilaire dehumidifier, a condensate pump, and a SaniDRY dehumidifier. After Bryan and his team finished the installation, Michael was thrilled with the professionalism and quality of work we have done on his home. Now he doesn’t have to be bothered with a musty and gross crawl space.
Homeowner Carol E. had a massive mold problem in her 1960s home in Long Beach. Her home has had mold remediation done twice in the past six years and now she needs to do it again. Mold remediation is the disposal of moldy porous building materials and involves the cleaning and disinfecting carpet and anything else that can be saved from excessive mold growth within the home. Carol didn’t experience the problem herself; she lives out of state and rents her property. She wanted to make sure that her home didn’t impact the health of her tenants and provide them with ideal living. Her real estate agents wanted her to replace the floor joists as well as other parts of her crawl space to address the issue. Our Project Design Specialist Jason was called in to do the evaluation and found that the crawlspace had over 68% humidity within the crawl space. Jason notified Carol that the real estate agent's suggestion was only a Band-Aid fix and eventually the humidity will cause mold again. Carol agreed with Jason and decided to go along with the project. Bryan A. and his crew took on this project and installed the Cleanspace Service. This service included: 930 square feet of Cleanspace, debris removal, a Cleanspace vent sealing, a custom-fitted Everlast door, an energy-efficient Aprilaire 1820 dehumidifier, a Smart Sump, and some electrical work. Now Carol can have the peace of mind of finally solving her mold issue the right way.
Homeowner Wence P. started noticing a problem in his new home in Long Beach that he recently moved into. He started to notice a musky smell coming from his crawl space. After a few months of dealing with the odor, he decided to call Saber to evaluate his problem. Our project design specialist Jason S. found EXTREMELY high levels of humidity. His meter read that the humidity ranged from 77.1 to 81.1 percent of humidity. Having this high of humidity levels is definitely the reason why the homeowner is experiencing problems. Having high humidity will cause mold in the crawl space which is the reason why there is a bad odor. Also, the humidity will cause moisture to affect the floor joists of the home. The wood readings were also very high reaching nearly 19 percent! This will cause even more problems that are far more costly. Wence understood the issues his crawl space was having and agreed to move forward. Bryan A. and his crew took on this project and cleared out all the debris of the home and installed the Cleanspace package. This service took two weeks to complete and included: 1446 square feet of clean space, 12 vent sealings, a condensate pump, a customer-fitted Everlast door, every efficient Aprilaire 1820 dehumidifier, and a new electrical outlet. From this install, Wence now has the peace of mind he was looking for and no longer has to deal with a moldy crawlspace that would eventually have cost him even more money down the road.
Homeowner Andrew and Nicole C. in Long Beach contacted us for our PolyLevel service. They have been having issues with their pool deck since they've moved into their home in 2018. They now decided it was time to repair their uneven concrete and improve their pool deck. Our PolyLevel specialist Scott L took on this project and installed 91 feet of nexus joint sealant after the old sealant was removed, 59 feet of Nexus crack repair, and lifted 8 areas of the pool deck with Poly. After Scott finished the project the couple was overjoyed by the results and are excited to no longer worry about their concrete around their pool.

After seeing the work Bryan and his crew did she had peace of mind and knew that our solution was a long-term viable solution.

Our Project Design Specialist Jason S. evaluated the property and found that the crawl space did have high levels of humidity reaching the range of 68 to 71 percent with the would moisture being 18 percent. Nick and his wife understood the issues of their crawl space and chose to move along with CleanSpace. Bryan A and his crew were tasked with this project but before they began that had to do full debris removal. After the crawl space was cleaned Bryan installed 1074 feet of Cleanspace, 6 CleanSpace vent sealings, 3 condensate pumps, 2 custom-fitted everlast doors, and 3 Aprilaire 1820 dehumidifiers. A homeowner in San Gabriel, California, noticed a drop in the concrete slab inside his garage and was referred to Saber Foundation Repair to conduct a free, no-obligation inspection.
Jarvis G. called Saber after estimating the concrete slab had sunk nearly 3 inches around the perimeter of the detached garage. There was also a large crack down the middle of the garage slab.
Jarvis, who has lived in the home for nearly 40 years, first noticed an issue with the concrete slab years ago but said it had gotten worse after an earthquake. He needed the uneven floor fixed because he uses the garage for woodworking and it was impacting his ability to build things precisely. He was also concerned about water getting into the garage through the separation of the floor and the baseboards.
A Saber concrete repair team was able to lift and level the concrete garage floor back into its original position and seal the joints. The team used PolyLevel, a proprietary polyurethane foam used exclusively by Saber Foundation Repair in southern California, to lift the concrete 3 inches. The foam quickly expands and cures, allowing Jarvis to use the garage floor immediately after the installation.
Jennie, a homeowner in Diamond Bar, Calif., became concerned about the structural integrity of her house after finding cracks on the walls and floor. She called Saber Foundation Repair to inspect the foundation and concrete of the property.
Jennie built the house in 1985 and had lived there ever since, so it was important to her that the home remained safe and structurally sound for years to come. Not only was she concerned the cracks in her home's floor and walls were getting worse with time, she also feared an earthquake could cause a huge safety hazard.
A Saber design specialist recommended fixing the foundation and protecting it from further damage by using helical piers. Helical piers are designed to transfer the weight of your home to load-bearing soil or bedrock, permanently stabilizing the home's foundation. He also found voids under concrete slabs, which caused the cracks in the flooring. He recommended using PolyLevel, a polyurethane foam injected under the concrete that quickly expands to fill any gaps in the soil.
Jennie agreed these solutions would be the best option to permanently fix her concrete and foundation issues, giving her peace of mind.
A hospital in Long Beach needed to either repair or replace their walkway due to it sinking.
A contractor for the hospital called Saber Foundation Repair to come out and inspect the concrete slabs. Hospital officials said they would prefer a quick and permanent solution to level and repair the walkway, as opposed to the time-intensive process of completely replacing it. They also knew that even if they replaced the walkway with new concrete, the issue might appear again as it wouldn't address the root of the problem.
Soil conditions are the most common problem for concrete issues. Saber's concrete leveling solution contains a polyurethane foam that would support the concrete slabs from underneath. This would offer support regardless of what was happening with the soil below.
Saber's concrete repair installation team worked quickly and diligently to level all of the slabs in the walkway and bring them back to their original position.

Andrew reached out to Saber, a reputable contractor specializing in crawl space moisture solutions, for help. Saber's specialist, Brian, checked things out and found the humidity at 51.6%, which wasn't good. Brian suggested a comprehensive Crawlspace Encapsulation system to sort it out.
Impressed by the explanation, Andrew agreed. Saber's team swiftly installed Clean Space Sheeting, Drains, and a Dehumidifier. This comprehensive approach stopped the moisture and made the crawl space clean and dry.
In a few weeks, Saber's work changed Andrew's crawl space. The Clean Space, Drains, and Dehumidifier effectively fixed the problems and ensured they wouldn't come back. Andrew was happy and relieved that his home's air and moisture issues were solved. Now, he can live comfortably without worrying about allergens.
Leland lived in her Van Nuys house for 10 years. Built in 1954, the house started showing signs of structural issues a few years back. Concerned for her safety and security, Leland decided it was time to hire an expert. She found Saber Foundation Repair through the Earthquake Brace + Bolt (EBB) program and hired us for the job.
Our Foreman, Alex O., and the team implemented our Seismic Design Build Package to secure Leland's home. The retrofitting process involved installing engineered metal connectors and reinforcement materials at key stress points throughout the structure. This included:
- Hold downs, anchors, and anchor bolts: To secure the structure to the foundation.
- Strap ties and framing angles: To reinforce connections between different parts of the structure.
- Wood blocking and structural sheathing: To further strengthen the walls and prevent collapse.
The goal was to counteract three main earthquake-induced forces: racking, sliding, and overturning. In engineering terms, we transformed Leland’s house from a building with loosely connected parts into a unified structure with a "continuous load path" from the foundation to the roof. Our experienced crew utilized a comprehensive set of seismic connectors to ensure the house structure stayed intact despite seismic forces that could easily tear an unreinforced house apart. Leland was highly satisfied with the results.
Merlin discovered Saber Foundation Repair at a home improvement show in Orange County. Having experienced several earthquakes in Southern California that year, he was keen on evaluating and protecting his home against future seismic events. Merlin met with our Design specialist who fully evaluated Merlin's home foundation and proposed our Seismic Design Build Package.
Our Foreman, Sammy M., led the crew to secure Merlin's home using the latest retrofitting techniques. The process involved installing engineered metal connectors and reinforcement materials, such as hold downs, anchors, strap ties, and framing angles, at critical stress points. This comprehensive approach transformed Merlin's home into a unified, resilient structure capable of withstanding significant seismic forces.
Merlin was delighted with the results and expressed his peace of mind knowing his home was now better protected against earthquakes.
When Larissa reached out to Saber Foundation Repair about her home in Los Angeles, she was understandably concerned. "My house is over 100 years old and I wanted to have the foundation evaluated," she explained. Larissa had noticed increasingly bouncy floors, a problem that only seemed to be getting worse over time.
Recognizing the urgency, we sent our design specialist Jason Sparks to conduct a thorough evaluation of her home’s crawl space and foundation. Upon inspection, Jason identified that the wood posts supporting the crawl space had significantly weakened over the years, contributing to the sagging floors. He recommended the installation of SmartJacks® for better support and stability.
Our foreman Sammy Molina and his dedicated crew got to work, securing the crawl space with these state-of-the-art crawl space supports. The SmartJack® Crawl Space Stabilizer, an adjustable supplemental support system, is specifically designed for sagging crawl spaces. This innovative product not only provides the necessary support for failing structures but can often lift sagging floor joists or beams, restoring them to their original position.
One of the key advantages of the SmartJack® system is its construction from strong, corrosion-resistant, galvanized steel. Unlike other systems that may rust over time, the SmartJack® remains adjustable for years, allowing for future adjustments if needed.
After the installation, Larissa was thrilled with the results. "I feel so much more secure now," she said, relieved to have her home's stability restored.
Zack's home in Long Beach, built in 1921, had been in his family for 51 years. As he prepared to sell the property, ensuring its safety and stability was a top priority. Seeking a reliable solution, Zack found Saber Foundation Repair through the Earthquake Brace + Bolt (EBB) program and decided to have a seismic retrofit installed in the crawl space.
Our experienced foreman, Sammy Molina, led the project, bringing expertise and dedication to the job. The team installed a 164-foot Seismic A35 Framing Angle, 30 square feet of Cripple Wall Sheathing, 2 Foundation Wall Straps, and removed 2800 pounds of debris from the crawl space. These enhancements were crucial for reinforcing the home’s foundation against seismic activity, providing the stability needed for Zack’s peace of mind.
The Seismic A35 Framing Angle and Cripple Wall Sheathing work together to strengthen the home’s structure, while the Foundation Wall Straps offer additional support to the foundation walls. These upgrades ensure the home can better withstand the forces of an earthquake, making it safer for its future occupants.
After the installation was complete, Zack was thrilled with the results. "I feel confident now," he said, knowing that his family’s historic home was secure and ready for the next chapter.
