The before photo is of a very damp and musty crawl space. The homeowners noticed this problem when they first moved into their 1990's home three years ago. Right away they installed a drain but they had little to almost no positive results after that installation. A homeowner in Dana Point, CA, grew concerned after heavy rains led to a musty odor in the house and creaking floors. Seeking a solution, the homeowner contacted Saber Foundation Repair. After a thorough inspection, our design specialist identified moisture issues in the crawlspace as the cause and recommended encapsulating the space. The homeowner agreed, and our team swiftly completed the encapsulation, eliminating the odor and stabilizing the floors, ensuring a healthier and more secure home environment.

Project Design Specialist Eamon R. did the evaluation for a home in Hacienda Heights and found that the moisture levels in the crawl space were through the roof. The humidity was peaking near 90% in the entire space. With humidity being so high, the wood readings were above 55% moisture. Have a high reading of humidity and moisture will not only cause the bad odor the family is experiencing, but it can also cause insect infestation, mold growth, and sagging floors.
