Seismic Retrofitting in Santa Ana, CA
Homeowner Erin K. has an older home in Santa Ana that was built in the mid-1940s. Because earthquakes in Southern California are relatively common, Erin wanted to invest in retrofitting her home to bring back value to her property. Erin has lived in her home for 22 years and now is at the age where her home is too big for her to maintain alone. She wishes to sell her home and move into a smaller one that is more manageable for her. 7 years ago, she started noticing issues with her door and window frames. They were starting to become more difficult to close. This is because she had some serious foundation cracks throughout her crawl space. The cracks now caused the home’s structural strength to dwindle and now her floors are also sagging. Having these foundation problems can greatly devalue a home by a significant amount. Project Design Specialist Steven O. was called in to do Erin’s evaluation. Erin was very happy with the evaluation and decided to move forward with the project. Bryan and his team arrived and installed 17 new posts that are equipped with pads and caps. A 70ft supplemental beam, 10 smart jacks, and 7 foundation wall straps. After the job was completed, Erin was overjoyed that her home is now structurally stable and was able to maintain her home value. She can now sell her home without compromising on the value of her home.

PolyLevel and Piering in Santa Ana, Ca.
A man recently purchased a Santa Ana, Ca. home with plans to renovate, 'flip', and sell the home. Upon further inspection at the time of purchase, it was found that the home and the neighboring tennis court on the property had experienced severe settlement and sinking. The homeowner was unaware of exactly what problems had caused the cracks in the interior and exterior walls and stucco of the home since it was built in 1989. The tennis court was found to have sinking slabs, creating poor drainage and trip hazards for anyone looking to buy the home and enjoy the sport.
Upon calling Saber for an inspection and estimate for repairs, the homeowner stressed that he wanted to boost the resale value of the home once all renovations and improvements were made. During their inspection, Saber found that one area of the home itself had settled. It was determined that 12 288 push piers around the compromised area of foundation would prevent further sinking and lift the home to maximum practical recovery. PolyLevel expanding foam beneath the slab for soil stabilization would also aid in the prevention of further sinking.
Each PolyLevel port was spaced 4' apart on the floor of the home and the piers were placed at the base of the foundation's footing, around the perimeter of the sinking area of the home's foundation. PolyLevel was also installed underneath areas of the tennis court through dime-sized ports that were later sealed. The production crew was able to level the court slabs, eliminating trip hazards and areas where water pooled after rain.
With the leveled tennis court and stabilized area of the home's foundation, the property's chances of being resold with increased value were improved. The homeowner was confident that he could move forward with the home's other renovations and repairs, now that the foundation of the home was secured.
